Your New E-Bike Charger

E-bikes have become increasingly popular in recent years. Bikes with built-in tailwind ensure that hills, headwinds and longer distances are no longer an obstacle, even for everyday cyclists. This is a welcome trend: not only are more and more people looking after their health by taking more exercise, they are also helping to reduce traffic noise and emissions by making fewer car journeys. Of course, an E-Bike needs electricity to support the rider's muscle power. Depending on the capacity of the built-in battery and the conditions of the ride, such as the level of assistance, speed, inclines, wind, etc., an E-bike has a certain range after which the battery is discharged and needs to be recharged with a suitable E-Bike charger.

Why purchase an additional E-Bike charger?

When you buy an electric bicycle, it is usually supplied with an e-bike charger that charges the battery safely and reliably. However, there are always situations in which a replacement charger for bike batteries or an additional E-bike charger is necessary or useful.  A good example would be if you often ride a particular route and want to charge your e-bike at your destination, such as the office or any other workplace. Of course, you can simply pack your bicycle battery in the morning, take it with you and bring it home again in the afternoon. However, you will always have a little extra weight to carry and there is always the risk that you will forget your E-bike charger and not be able to charge your bike battery as planned, either at home or at your destination. If you simply leave a second E-Bike charger in your locker or cupboard at work, you can be sure that you always have a suitable charger available at any location and can cycle home with the required amount of battery.

Alternatively, have you recently bought a second-hand e-bike? E-bikes from good brands are very robust and can be used for a long time if properly maintained. This is why the second-hand market for e-bikes is flourishing. You can find excellent bargains here if the bike is still in very good condition, but parts and accessories such as the E-Bike battery or the E-bike charger are sometimes missing or defective. By exploring our online shop you can upgrade your newly purchased, used e-bike quickly and easily by purchasing an inexpensive matching battery and a suitable replacement charger. This allows you to make the most of your bargain purchase, without any hassle.

Other reasons for buying a replacement charger are, for example, if you have lost your original E-Bike charger or it has broken. In this case, you will also find the ideal replacement in our shop so that you can recharge your e-bike quickly and safely and cycle with the support you need.

How do I find a matching bike battery?

Do you own an ebike and need a new charger for your bike battery? You can find e-bike chargers for various battery systems here. To find the right E-bike charger, it's best to take a closer look at your current E-bike charger and pay attention to the connector on the bike battery charging cable for connecting the charger and bike battery. Your replacement charger must of course have an identical plug. Pay particular attention to the number of pins or whether your e-bike charger has an XLR or round plug connection. With the round plug, the size, i.e. the inner and outer diameter of the plug, is relevant. You can recognise XLR plugs on E-bike chargers by the round plug with visible contact pins on the inside. Here too, check the number and position of the pins on the charger for E-Bike with the connection on your battery.

Some chargers do not have a connector plug but a charging cradle with pins into which the E-bike battery is inserted. In this case, you should make sure that the connection pins in the charging cradle match the connections on your battery.

In addition to the shape and connection pins of the plug, the technical specifications of the ebike charger are of course also relevant. You should make sure that the charging voltage of the e-bike charger matches the voltage of your battery. For example, if you have an e-bike with a 24 V battery, then you must also choose an E-Bike charger for 24 V batteries. A 36 Volt E-Bike charger is also suitable for bike batteries with a voltage of up to 36 V. Using an e-bike charger with a different voltage can damage your battery.

Another technical parameter of the charger for E-Bike batteries is the strength of the charging current. The current is measured in amperes. Essentially, a higher charging current means that your battery will charge faster, and some chargers do not have a connector plug but a charging tray with pins into which the e-bike battery is inserted. In this case, you should make sure that the connection pins in the charging tray match the connections on your battery.

E-Bike fast charger with a minimum of 2 Ampere

If it is important for you to charge your e-bike battery as quickly as possible, then you need a fast charger for your E-Bike. With this type of charger, a stronger charging current ensures that the charger recharges your battery more quickly. This reduces the charging time, which is particularly important if you are only taking a short break and want to use your e-bike again quickly. Our e-bike quick chargers have a charging current of 2.0 to 2.35 amps. This significantly reduces the charging time compared to conventional E-Bike chargers with 1.0 oder 1.35 ampere. Your battery will of course continue to be charged safely and reliably.

Following this guidance, you should now have no more problems finding the right E-Bike charger for your bicycle. Once you have done so, simply add your chosen E-Bike charger to your shopping basket and proceed to the checkout to receive your charger as quickly as possible.
