Lithium manganese dioxide batteries are the most frequently used lithium batteries and have a low self-discharge rate, high energy density and long shelf life (min. 10 years). However, they can only be stored and operated within a limited temperature range and should not be charged. Li/MnO2 batteries are often used in cameras, memory and RTC backup, medical instruments, transmitters and tracking devices. Button cells (coin type CR batteries) display a long-term stable operating voltage with a low load discharge rate and are used in watches, calculators and small electronic devices.
Lithium manganese oxide (LMO) batteries have a low internal resistance and high thermal stability. They are not subject to memory effect so are long-lasting, offer maximum charging current and have a consistently high capacity. LMO batteries are particularly well-suited for use in smartphones, cameras, tablet computers, MP3 players as well as tools, medical instruments and battery electric vehicles.
