Lithium manganese dioxide batteries are the most frequently used lithium batteries and have a low self-discharge rate, high energy density and long shelf life (min. 10 years). However, they can only be stored and operated within a limited temperature range and should not be charged. Li/MnO2 batteries are often used in cameras, memory and RTC backup, medical instruments, transmitters and tracking devices. Button cells (coin type CR batteries) display a long-term stable operating voltage with a low load discharge rate and are used in watches, calculators and small electronic devices.

Die gelieferte Batterie war entweder defekt oder nicht geeignet für meine Alarmanlage Daitem D22. Nach Tausch der verbrauchten gegen die gelieferte Batterie in der Zentrale D22 bestand die Meldung "Störung der Hauptstromversorgung" weiter. Ich habe daraufhin den zuständigen Alarmanlagenservice gerufen; mit der Batterie, die der Alarmanlagenservice eingesetzt hat ist die Störung beseitigt.
Mit meinen begrenzten Meßmitteln kann ich eine Lithiumbatterie nicht ausreichend testen; die Leerlaufspannung betrug etwa 3,61 Volt, unter Last (360mA) sank die Spannung der einen Hälfte der Batterie auf ca 3,36 Volt, die der anderen Hälfte auf 3,22 Volt. Inwieweit der Innenwiderstand der Batterie für die Anlage eine Rolle spielt ist mir nicht bekannt.
