Lithium-ion polymer batteries (often abbreviated to LiPo, Li-poly, lithium-poly and LIP) belong to the Li-ion family. They have a low self-discharge rate, are long-lasting and have a high capacity. Compared to other Li-ion batteries, the energy capacity of lithium polymer batteries is slightly lower, but they are more resistant to overcharging.
